1. Who we are
SPILL is an anonymous Q&A app operated by Oxigenic Inc. ("Oxigenic", "we", "us"). With SPILL you create a post, share a link to your social stories, and receive anonymous messages in the app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the SPILL iOS app and the SPILL web pages (including the anonymous reply pages hosted on this site).
This policy applies only to SPILL. Other Oxigenic products and third-party websites and services have their own policies.
2. Anonymous doesn't mean invisible
Messages you send on SPILL appear anonymous to the person who receives them — we don't show your name. However, when you send a message we collect technical information about your device and connection (described below), and the recipient may be able to unlock hints about you as a paid feature, such as your device type and the approximate location associated with your network connection. Please keep this in mind before sending a message.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Profile details: your first name, birth year, and an optional profile photo, collected when you set up the app.
- Content: the posts (prompts) you create, the anonymous messages and replies you send, and thread conversations.
- Support communications: anything you send us by email.
Information collected automatically
- App users: an anonymous account identifier (we use anonymous sign-in — no email or password is required), device type and operating system version, a push-notification token, usage analytics, and crash or error reports.
- When you send an anonymous message from the web: your device or browser type and operating system version, your IP address, and an approximate location derived from your IP address (such as city, region, postal code, country, and approximate coordinates), provided by a third-party IP-geolocation service. Missing or blocked values simply aren't collected.
- Share pages: basic view counts on your share links.
Purchase information
Purchases (such as Spill Pro subscriptions and hint packs) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction and entitlement records from Apple so we can deliver what you bought. We never receive your credit-card number or full payment details.
4. How we use information
- To provide SPILL: creating posts and share pages, delivering messages and push notifications, and displaying your profile details (your name, photo, and post text appear on your public share page).
- To operate paid features, including revealing sender hints to recipients who have purchased them.
- For content moderation and safety: text submitted to SPILL is automatically reviewed, including by third-party moderation services, before it is published or delivered.
- To maintain, debug, and improve the service, using analytics and error reports.
- To respond to support requests and to comply with legal obligations.
5. Automated content
Some content in SPILL may be generated automatically by the service rather than written by another person, and we may use third-party AI providers to generate or review content. Content you submit may be processed by those providers for these purposes.
6. How we share information
- With message recipients: as described above, the recipient of an anonymous message may unlock hints about the sender (such as device type and approximate location) as a paid feature.
- Publicly: your share page — including your name, profile photo, and post text — is visible to anyone with the link.
- Service providers: we use providers to run SPILL, including Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, analytics, push notifications), Apple (payments), AI providers such as OpenAI (content moderation and generation), and an IP-geolocation service. They process data on our behalf to provide these functions.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or Oxigenic.
- Business transfers: if Oxigenic is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as it is needed to operate the service and for the purposes described in this policy.
You can delete your account from within the app. Deleting your account removes your sign-in credentials, so the account can no longer be accessed. Content and records associated with the account (such as posts, messages, and transaction records) may remain stored in our systems after account deletion.
If you would like to request deletion of specific content or data, contact us at support@oxigenic.com. We will review requests and respond consistent with applicable law.
8. Children
SPILL is not intended for children under 13, and the app does not allow users who indicate they are under 13 to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@oxigenic.com and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access rules on our databases, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices
- A profile photo is optional.
- You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- If you don't want the technical information described above collected when sending a message, don't send anonymous messages on SPILL.

11. International users
SPILL is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. By using SPILL, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and post the new version here. Material changes may also be communicated in the app. Your continued use of SPILL after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
